If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Brett Slater Solicitors (Harbourside Legal Services Pty Ltd) has been nothing short of frustrating, unprofessional, and completely irresponsible.

I initially engaged them for immigration legal services, expecting expert advice tailored to my profile. Instead, I encountered a constant change of lawyers, making it impossible to get consistent or competent guidance. My case was eventually handled by Marina, who stopped responding for months at a time—a completely unacceptable practice for any legal professional.

Every time I followed up, I was either ignored or given vague reassurances that led nowhere. The lack of accountability and professionalism was staggering. After weeks of silence and zero progress, I requested clarification and revisions on their subpar advice letter. Instead of addressing my concerns, they became completely unresponsive and refused to rectify their mistakes. its been 4 months and counting waiting on a revised advice letter.

To make matters worse, their legal advice was generic, templated, and did not consider my specific qualifications or the best visa pathways available—despite charging premium fees for a “customized strategy.” They even failed to include key visa options we had previously discussed, proving that they either did not review my case properly or simply did not care.

This firm lacks the basic duty of care and due diligence expected from a legal service provider. If you are looking for responsive, knowledgeable, and reliable immigration lawyers, look elsewhere. I would strongly advise against trusting them with something as important as your future and legal status.

I've been told by "someone" within this firm that most are focused on making money than actually looking at the case and seeing if it could be dealt with or not. And it is evidently visible where most of the reviews are filtered with only the positive ones where as the bad ones are filtered out. I hope there comes a time when you change how you display yourself as an honest business providing legal services to people are after assistance regarding a matter beyond their scope of understanding. It seems immigration related lawyers these days lack virtue and wisdom. You're only considering customers more like cash cows.

The most efficient, courteous, and totally brilliant Law Firm I have ever worked with!

We had a very difficult situation as my wife and I applied for straight forward Australian tourist visas nine weeks before our departure date to Sydney. My visa arrived 4 weeks before departure, but my wife’s visa had still not arrived at just two weeks before departure which was very concerning.

Home affairs very frustratingly would not assist at all.

I contacted Mr Lee Seigenberg, Group General Manager at Brett Slater Solicitors (part of the Harbourside Legal Services Group) in Sydney. The speed of action and success was incredible, summarised as follows:

Friday - morning – spoke with Mr Seigenberg for the first time. - during the day – all required papers and initial actions instated by Mr Seigenberg and his team. Saturday / Sunday - my wife completed the formal authority papers enabling Brett Slater Solicitors to talk formally on her behalf with Home Affairs. - even though it was the weekend, communication was maintained throughout. Monday - Brett Slater Solicitors managed to get through to a Senior Manager in Home Affairs concerning my wife’s application of seven weeks ago not being processed Tuesday - Incredibly my wife’s visa was granted!

The 1:1 courteous and incredibly fast successful service level provided by Mr Seigenberg, the Senior Associate Nadine Elhage and their entire legal team was the most impressive I have ever experienced across multiple Law Firms I have dealt with across many years.

Nadine Elhage prepared and submitted a protection visa application for an unmarried and intellectually disabled Indian woman (applicant's sister) who was a part of the family. The family comprised of four members and remaining three were Australian citizens. It was argued that the woman was a member of a particular social group and if repatriated, she would face persecution leading to a potential threat to her life.DIBP accepted arguments put forward and granted permanent protection visa. When I met Nadine Elhage for the first time in Sydney in August 2019 discussing if there would be any chance of becoming a Permanent Resident in Australia again she immediately gave me hope and a 50/50 chance.
