I had the privilege of being represented by Chantelle Williams during an incredibly challenging family law matter, and I cannot speak highly enough of her. Her dedication, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to my case were beyond exceptional. She not only brought expertise and professionalism but also a level of compassion and support that made an immense difference during such a difficult time. Truly an exceptional lawyer and an even better human being. I’m deeply grateful for her tireless efforts and would recommend her without hesitation to anyone seeking outstanding legal representation.

Avoid this firm (though ‘financial drain hole’ is probably more apt) for Family Law.

After nearly three years, I was left with unenforceable orders, blatant double standards, and zero sound strategy...and a barrister admitting they weren't across crucial aspects of my case. Their lack of due diligence left me legally vulnerable, now requiring further, formal investigations and action.

To top it all off, the firm actively miscommunicated an expert's involvement, missed a settlement payment—triggering threats of property sale, interest, and further unnecessary legal issues. When questioned, Clayton Long dismissed it as a non-event that 'happens all the time'—a staggering display of incompetence and disregard.

If you want real legal strategy, competence, accountability, and value for money—look elsewhere.

DO NOT TRUST THIS LAW FIRM or Declan Williams. 1 star is the lowest I can give but he should be disbarred. Feel free to look at my other google reviews as well, the vast majority are very positive most being 5*. I am not just venting, I am just trying to save you from the pain of dealing with Declan Williams whilst you'll be going through probably one of the most difficult times of your life.

Declan Williams is by far the most incompetent person I have ever met. He is lazy, a liar, arrogant, smug, terrible at speaking during hearings and extremely rude to everyone around him including the registrar, never answers his phone or emails, forgets everything, does not inform his clients of time sensitive information, constantly cuts off his clients thinking he knows everything only to try and give political speak 3 weeks later when he realises he messed up and didn't actually have a clue. He preps his clients for important events whilst driving home, without notes in front of him or even refreshing himself on the case and suddenly ends the call because he arrives home. There was even at least one time that I was not aware of my court date which was less than 24 hours before it was scheduled even though he has that informations weeks or months before hand and I had been hounding him trying to find out when it was (yes I still have all of the unanswered emails, text messages and phone calls over months and month). The only time he actually bothered to call me back was when I said I would report him to the authority that lets him keep his license to practice law. Going over the official checklist for reporting lawyers I thought I would find 2 or 3 boxes that he ticked but out of the official list of 10 or so legitimate breaches of their duty he ticked about 90% of them objectively. I have proof Declan of every single thing that you did and did not do, you laughed at me and winged my case notes were too long, well i've got them about you as well. You should not be practicing law and especially not family matters where children's well being is at stake. You are an embarrassment to your profession and I strongly urge anybody reading this if you value your children's lives that you steer clear of this man, you would be better off representing yourself. When I hired a new lawyer there was a tonne of very important documents that had been submitted to the case portal which I have no way of accessing whilst I have a lawyer that he had never shown me, mentioned or even actioned. The family court process is difficult at the best of times and it is a long road. This is not someone you want with you during that time.

This law firm also promoted to executive lawyer him during my case and he used that as an excuse as to why he was so busy when I could finally get a hold of him once every never.

The staff at LSWL were nothing short of fantastic and professional. Certainly didn't expect the after hours service but the diligence and thorough communication helped us throughout what could have been a stressful experience. Conveyancing, legal advice and trust setup went very smoothly.

William Ma has been superb from beginning to end. He was very quick to response, his explanations were very simple to understand, especially when a client doesn't come from a law background, William uses language that I could understand.

Family Law Matter - Disappointed with the management of my case. Murky in terms of the true costs associated with progressing a matter to certain stages. My final invoice came back significantly more than the 'estimate' provided. I suggest taking the previous Family Law complaints listed below seriously.

I used LSW for conveyancing services for the purchase of an investment property. I was not impressed by the entire process.

The disbursement charges felt very non-transparent (quoted a much lower amount a couple of weeks before settlement and the final amount was much higher) with explanations being very vague.

The contract review was also quite slow and we had to chase them for it and their team took a long time to alert us to the need for body corporate searches which led to us having to pay a priority fee.

The entire process has been very frustrating and I will not use them in the future for conveyancing.

The family division of CLW has it's primary focus on MONEY, They do not pay attention to the clients needs and the end result or goals sort by the client. I asked on numerous occasions what I could expect as a final outcome, the response were dismissive and misleading, Affidavits were written incorrectly and required rework 'All charged by the hour' The service level I received was appalling and I made the right choice terminating there services after the first case lost by there representation. I have been self represented for the past 1.5 years and I have better job in my family case then they have in the 4 month period of their services wasting $50,000 in legal fees. Money down the drain using these unprofessional money hungry lawyers who always underquoted all legal fees. Be very cautious pursuing this firm.
