I submitted an offer and deposit to a seller, who cancelled this offer and is going to refund the deposit. I paid to this Morrison trust account per request of the offer before , and finalize my due diligence legal service fee with my lawyer.

This Morrison lawy firm didn’t refund my deposit according to their client, requested me or my lawyer send them email to ask for refunds.

This behaviour creates more non necessary correspondence and increase the bill for their clients.

Based on their response, there is no valid justification for requesting that I cover legal fees related to a deposit refund, especially when the inquiry stems from their own client’s request.

This law firm has failed to communicate directly with their client regarding the matter. Instead, they have instructed the opposing party (in this case, me) to involve my lawyer in correspondence—seemingly to generate additional revenue from unnecessary legal exchanges.

To clarify: I engaged my lawyer for due diligence and legal counsel, not to perform administrative tasks such as sending emails for a deposit refund—particularly when their client has already cancelled the agreement. Requiring legal representation for such a straightforward matter appears excessive and unjustified.
