In 2016 I had spilt from my ex-husband and met with Ellen Russell, who guided and helped me throughout the divorce settlement. Ellen talked me through the process and helped me to remain calm throughout the whole ordeal which resulted in a positive outcome.

In 2019 I was then met again with orders from my ex-husband for our child. I sought out Ellen again and found her at Robinson + McGuiness. I knew the process was going to be long and challenging, and that I needed Ellen to represent me. Ellen was just on the ball, was well-informed and prepared, and would give me her honest and professional advice while also listening to each of my concerns. At the time, I was in a high risk pregnancy and she was very sensitive and caring. After nearly 6 years, we had final orders and 97% of what was proposed on our behalf granted!

Ellen, Margot, Sally and the whole team at Robinson + McGuiness were fantastic. They made me feel safe and heard during such a difficult time. I cannot recommend Ellen and the team enough!

I was delivered an affidavit from my ex wife in April 2021. We had split up 10 years previous however we didn’t lodge divorce papers until April 2020. I was totally blindsided. We had come to an informal agreement regarding property in 2011. I didn’t know where to start and contacted the law society however I wasn’t happy with the list they gave me. I discovered “Doyles” rating of Law Firms and started searching the top tier. I discovered the entry to Robinson and Maginnes. I saw Sally’s photo and just thought that she looked learned in her profession and a kind soul. So Sally was my first and only “port of call”.

I was stressed to the max. I met with Sally over two hours as the matter was now very complicated by the effluxion of time and my own emotional state of regret. I was ready to make an immediate offer. Sally was totally non-judgemental and offered me sound reassuring initial advice and strongly advised against making a premature offer until we had all the facts and documentation and as she said “provide you with the very best legal advice”. Sally introduced Amelia into the melee and she was also very kind and insightful and very able at her craft.

In a nutshell what really impressed me was: 1. Sally and Amelia’s genuine respect for me as a client and as a human being suffering depression and stress and huge regret over the failure of the marriage. 2. Sally and Amelia’s ability to methodically and logically digest literally reams of financial and other documentation going back over 20 years. Both Sally and Amelia are very sharp at “sorting the wheat from the chaff” and discovering the critical legal points. 3. Both Sally and Amelia keep steering me back on track during our meetings so that time was used as efficiently and cost effectively as possible and ensuring “no stone was left unturned”. We had one particular very long meeting and trawled through masses of information. They strongly encouraged me to be as prepared as possible for each meeting. Phone contact was always very concise and businesslike. 4. The billing was very very fair. 5. Neither Sally or Amelia brooked any nonsense from the other side. They doggedly championed my rights under law.

The final settlement exceeded my wildest expectations. I was actually a bit blown away.

There’s an old saying that “you get what you pay for” and I certainly got my monies worth. But much more important than that Sally and Amelia provide the most professional but also warm and humane experience I could ask for. We also had a good laugh along the way which is the best tonic during such a stressful process.

I wish Sally and Amelia and the supporting staff (who are also just wonderful) all the very best for the future. I will gladly strongly recommend your firm.

Trust them to fight for you and you will not be disappointed. When I went to Robinson and McGuinness with a family issue I was distressed. In the initial visit I was treated with a combination of professionalism, honesty and compassion. As the issue progressed, I found all at the company, especially Ellen Russell, to have the same qualities. I trusted them from the beginning and the result was better than I had expected.

I have used Robinson and McGuinness on two occasions and they were fantastic! They are very pleasant to deal with and very professional. They provide very sound advice and achieved a good outcome for me. I always felt that they had my best interests in mind. They are also very clear in their advice and speak in plain English. I would highly recommend them.

These guys are fantastic to deal with, especially when you are feeling at your lowest and most vulnerable they show that there is light at the end of the tunnel by showing compassion as well as a very professional approach.
