Colin and Bella handled my financial settlement post marriage separation. It was a pleasant experience to deal with this firm. Their small firm was against a big firm. There were constant threats from opposition about mediation and court action. But Colin and Bella skillfully managed not only to avoid meditation and court case but reach a 50:50 settlement. That was a big win. They tried their best to control the cost. As regards cost, the most important point to remember is it is mainly dependent on how efficient, responsible and cooperative the opposition law firm is. A sloppy and adamant opposition law firm may result in higher than anticipated costs and time to complete the settlement.

I will definitely recommend this firm.

The other advantage is they are located in a suburb which makes it easy to reach them. I wish the firm all the best.

Over the past year I’ve been using Springwood lawyers with property setltement and family court matters , it has been an extremely stressful and emotional time for me and took a toll on my mental health , Springwood lawyers were the only ones who actually took me on and helped me as 3 other firms told me to go and apply for legal aid! We had a very poor experience with Colin Smith and Springwood Lawyers. Our final bill was three to four times higher than Colin’s initial estimate, with no increase in the scope of work from what we described in our initial meeting. They were very slow preparing our final agreements, but nevertheless they were riddled with literally dozens of errors, several of which were legally significant. Would absolutely recommend on their honesty alone. I needed to finalise some documents for a divorce and other places were quoting high fees and having to start from the beginning. Colin listened to where I was at, quoted me, but also advised how I could do this myself in order to save money now (as a single mum) as the gains would not be received until retirement.

I first encountered Springwood Lawyers when my mother made me her POA and Executor of her will. Their professionalism, knowledge and execution of their clients needs is excellent and, in my book, second to none. Thankyou Springwood Lawyers for the service you provided me

I engaged them i asked for a letter be returned to me that i had provided them and they charged me around $100 to give me a copy. They sent me a $2k bill for doing nothing. Not recommended unless you want to get ripped off

I just recently finished a child matter with a successful outcome. From the beginning I didn't exactly know how to go about things or the whole process. I rang around and nobody would even see me without paying a consultation fee. Colin was the only one that was willing to give me the time of the day to hear me out and discuss my options and explain the process. He knew the how the entire process went and explained it all very clearly to me every step of the way. He was often available to make appointment times that were convenient for me. When it came to the Interim Hearing, he was able to handle this all himself, without going through the expensive route of using a Barrister. Family Law proceedings are indeed expensive, but Springwood Lawyers didn't charge me anywhere near other quotes I've heard of and seen. I highly recommended them (have already told someone to get in touch with them in fact!)

Prior to meeting Colin and the rest of the Springwood Lawyers ‘family’ I had no experience of ever dealing with the legal system and family law. Mine was a unique and lengthy custody battle over my 2 daughters and their respective mothers who had joined forces in an abhorrent example of human behaviour, horrible accusations and simply disgraceful un-truths. I knew I hadn’t done the things that I was being accused of – but I had to fight for my own integrity and right to stay directly involved in my girls lives – both of whom were taken off me. The battle was long and very arduous, but I had the complete trust and confidence of not only Colin but all of those in the office who did everything they could to ensure the correct outcome was achieved. The whole legal battle was extremely difficult to deal with and whilst I had lost sight of seeing any possible light at the end of the tunnel, everyone at Springwood Lawyers continued to fight and continued to encourage me. They did everything they could to not only give me hope but belief in the system and that it would in fact serve its purpose if I was patient enough and followed their insightful direction. Their advice and support is what carried me through til the end and I was awarded full custody of one of my girls and 50/50 the other – neither of which would ever have happened if it wasn’t for their persistence and dedication.
