Won’t let me leave a review without at least one star but Gavin Lai had zero understanding of domestic violence or financial abuse. He did not listen, did not follow instructions, misled me to sign consent orders that saw me lose my home, put me on hold during the hearing I believe intentionally so I could not stop him from colluding with the other side, and then became aggressive when I asked him why he did all these things. I’ve sought action and redress from this firm numerous times and they completely ignore my requests. If there’s anyone else who’d like to join me in seeking action is taken against this unethical lawyer falsely advertises he understands coercive control I’d be grateful to hear from you. Unethical family lawyers destroy lives.

After spending a considerable amount of money on a lawyer who was grossly underprepared for a mediation late last year. Gavin Lai was recommended by a friend as an alternative lawyer to take over my case.

From our first meeting, Gavin presented himself as someone of absolute integrity and sensitivity to my personal situation.

Gavin continued to encourage me through the evidence gathering and rebuttal processes and last week I was able to settle at a subsequent mediation that saw a marked turnaround in my personal outcome when compared to my previous lawyer.

Paid the fee 2 years ago and after that transaction didn’t get any email or call even the agent left their office I didn’t knew I called them a few times they couldn’t find my file and said when they found it the will email me but after months they didn’t do anything so when I transferred my file they didn’t refund me because that’s was their fees for doing nothing and wasted my time thanks

My family and I arrived on Subclass 188 temporary business visas in Dec 2016, in June 2020 we passed the Qld State nomination and due to Covid endured 3 and a half years of significant uncertainty and feelings of utter hopeless. I was introduced to Aishwarya and her team by the Small Business Association of Australia. We honestly and openly admit that Emerson Family law explored every opportunity to lobby at every government level to have our case looked at. Grace, Amelia, Aishwarya and Ben treated us with the utmost respect and patience. There were many tears and many days filled with significant mental dread of an uncertain future for our children and ourselves in Australia, this despite running a successful business and employing Australian workers. As it turned out our previous migration agent made an error on our submissions which caused our file to be placed on the 'too difficult pile'. With the perseverance of Emerson Law we were granted PR on 15 June 2023.

Aishwarya doesn’t know what a lawyer needs to be ,. Every time I call office she is in the meeting and she never answers the email. i paid a lot of money but she never answer my emails at all, I don’t recommend this place, very unprofessional👎🏻 .

I used this firm years ago. My lawyer advised I accept a DVO without admission. Very poor advice. Then took a holiday at the most crucial moment, the interim hearing. I’d never use them again.
