I was in a situation where my local lawyers wanted to charge crazy amounts of money to do consent orders (I was told between 7 to 10k and that did not include my ex’s own legal fee’s as he would need a separate lawyer for the process). My ex and I already had agreed on what we believed was a fair split and it all seemed to hectic and expensive for words. I recently had a consent order rejected by the courts and needed to have them relodged ASAP. After a google search I sent an appointment request through to Kate Austin Lawyers. The same day I was contacted by Brendan, who was amazing. He talked me through the entire process, and we went through the form together, so I understood what I needed to do. The courts indicated they would review the orders within 6 weeks. This timeframe made it hard for my ex and myself to apply for stamp duty exemptions. Brendan made no promises but said he would request the courts review the consent order in a shorter period. Within two days we had the draft consent orders from Rachel to review and once the draft was agreed upon, we were provided with the consent form to sign the very next day. It was then lodged that same day. We received the signed consent orders within three days from lodgement. Both Brendan and Rachel were very professional and made what could have been a difficult process into a seamless, stressless and simple process with a successful outcome. I would not hesitate in recommending these guys to anyone.

Terrible experience, told I would get a call back from a lawyer. Brendan, practice manager called to let me know they didn't give legal advice and couldn't help me, which is ok and within their right, but when asked to guide me in the right directions was rude, incredibly abrasive, and refused to tell me his name.
