I am a retired accountant and contacted Amanda Schmidt as I was having ongoing difficulties in administrating a deceased estate.

As executor I discovered, to my detriment, that you need the BEST legal counsel in ALL circumstances - and that includes DECEASED ESTATES - and you must NEVER assume that the local legal practice that your loved ones used during their lifetime will have the knowledge or professional skills required to guide an administration in efficient and correct procedures.

There is also a grief component with deceased estates, and it probably took me the best part of six months before I was able to actively rise above that and to start researching all the online information concerning deceased estates - only to discover the extent of personal liability issues for an executor, as well as specific "time limits" to contest a will in Queensland, and the role of "deeds of release", among other issues...

I have Known Elizabeth for many years and always found her to be caring, professional and very knowledgeable. We sought out Kennedy Spanner Lawyers, specifically Elizabeth for or an estate matter which she made really smooth and easy during a difficult time. I would highly recommend Elizabeth to anyone.

My experience was awful. Brad Spanner threatened me with legal action if I did not remove my previous review. I'm wondering if they do this to every person who leaves them a poor review.

In my case, I employed Elizabeth Adams for a family law matter. My ex-wife was withholding without cause as Elizabeth had originally advised me.

I wanted Elizabeth to review an application to the court for me to lodge. I sent an affidavit to her to be done as a contravention of orders, and it was returned as an initiating application. I trusted her guidance as I had no idea what I was doing, what a mistake that was.

After a few months and the second mention, I had lost all contact with my son. I sacked Kennedy and Spanner before a trial for a civil protection order application my ex made against me. Apparently, standard practice as advised by her lawyer.

At trial, even though I had evidence to prove the applicant was lying, it made no difference to the magistrate. A two year order was agreed to. Not even the fact she was engaged to a convicted ice addict or the next boyfriend she eventually married who had been to jail for slashing a woman accross the face with a glass made zero difference. I was the tainted one. Even though I had no criminal history, I held a security licence and a defence clearance by dept of defence.

I was advised by the new lawyer that I should have lodged a recovery order and contravention of orders. I trusted Kennedy and Spanner and Elizabeth Adams to steer me in the right direction.

It appears they didn't. If I had lodged a contravention of orders and a recovery application, it would have most likely been over in 6 months.

It took 3 long years $65,000.00 and the breakdown of my 61/2 year relationship to finally get some orders and regular contact with my son.

I was advised by the new lawyer to make complaints about the service received by Elizabeth Adams. Stupidly, I didn't as I had no idea how to.

$20,000.00 spent at Kennedy and Spanner, and I was in no better position than once I started. I did complain to them about Elizabeth's service, but it made no difference.

This experience has left me feeling mistrust in the legal profession and the family court system. This story is not half of it. It gets more shocking as it goes on.

Locked out of the courtroom on the day of trial by the Federal Circuit Court Judge, presented with orders that were in favour of the mother and told by my Barrister that if I want justice, this is not the place to come.
