Sharing my very positive experience with The Norton Law Group. Gabriella was my lawyer for a two year period. She was professional, caring, very knowledgeable and helped me to achieve a very good result.

My personal experience with Norton Law was disappointing.

I initially met Franco and, based on recommendations from colleagues who had positive outcomes with him, decided to engage him as my lawyer. However, after signing on, my case was transferred to his daughter, Gabriella, without prior discussion — and I did not hear from Franco again until he contacted me in response to this review.

During key stages of my divorce process, I often felt unsupported and unprepared. For example, I didn’t feel adequately briefed ahead of the child impact assessment, and unfortunately, the outcome reflected that. Gabriella also recommended I bring in a barrister for a mediation session — at significant extra cost. This was explained as due to the complexity of my matter and, presumably, the timing of the mediation close to her due date. However, I had chosen Franco in the first place for his senior experience, and had expected his direct involvement at these points.

In my view, the firm’s systems were outdated and hard to work with — key documents were sent as PDFs, complex financials were handled in Word, and there were no shared or trackable tools. This made it difficult to stay organised, track changes, or manage follow-ups. When I raised this, I was told “this is how it’s done.” In my experience, these inefficiencies made things harder and may have contributed to increased costs.

Ultimately, I spent a substantial amount and made several decisions I now feel were not fully informed. I understand family law is complex and emotionally charged — but what impacted me most was how anxious I felt before meetings with Norton Law. Instead of feeling supported by a prepared, strategic team, I often left those meetings feeling more overwhelmed. That’s not what I needed during such a vulnerable chapter of life.

In contrast, after switching to Carla Santo, I had a far more positive experience. We used collaborative tools like shared document editing, voice notes, and AI to stay on track and reduce stress. Even when her advice was challenging to hear, I felt supported and understood — and that she genuinely had my back every step of the way.

Engaging a family lawyer is often a first-time experience, and it can be difficult to know what “good” looks like. I’m sharing my experience in the hope that it helps others feel more informed and confident to ask the right questions — and ultimately find a legal partner that’s the right fit for them.

I went to see a lawyer and I had no idea what a power house Jessica is and she is still fighting for me . Jessica has been so professional and supportive during this terrible situation of Divorce. She stands up for woman and children wholeheartedly. She has held me up emotionally. She tries to save money where she can and is always honest . Remember when you engage any family lawyer their initial goal is to get as much money out of you as possible. During my time with Norton Group I was a broken and exposed person. Having lost everything Franco would say all the right things and draw out my dispute for as long as he could. He doesn’t do this alone as I learned that most of the family lawyers and barristers know each other quite well. They all diabolically work together to get the most out of both parties. My dispute could have been resolved within a few months but it was drawn out for a lengthy extended period. In the end I got played and ended up agreeing to a poorly ill advised settlement.

My 98 year old mother needed help with her will. Franco was first class in the way he helped my mother and later when it came time to deal with her estate Verneek was so quick and thorough.

We engaged Daniel at NLG for conveyancing and contract review when we purchased/sold property in late 2022. We found the response time woefully inadequate, and other times our calls and emails were not even returned. We were directed to leave out enquiries with the secretary on several occasions, rather than being able to speak directly with our solicitor. Ultimately we terminated their services and moved to another solicitor who did a fantastic job.

Franco did not meet my expectations on any level. I found the service from this firm sub standard and I feel as if engaging them was a huge mistake.

Harvey Princi is a very slick thief! He took 50% of my payout after his initial promise of charging no more than 20%. Unfortunately in the early part of my claim I recommended him to a friend who also had an awful experience dealing with him. He is a disgrace should be disbarred.

I worked with Franco over a three- and half-year period to bring my complicated, nasty family law matter to completion. Franco was always honest, friendly, and responsive to emails and phone calls. Franco understood my matter, he recommended cost effective lines of investigation and kept it moving to ensure we reached a fair settlement and custody orders.
